Limerick taken off Tornado watch

As a band of extreme weather moves across Limerick and the entire country, the Met office has issued a severe weather warning today saying that stormy conditions are expected in the Limerick area as well as across the country.

From the Met office,
The Munster Area:
Becoming extremely windy or stormy today, with gale force southwest to west winds, gusting up to 130 km per hour. Heavy or prolonged showers also, with a risk of thunder.


A Tornado Watch which was issued by Torro at 2020GMT on Saturday for parts of Southern Ireland which include right here in Limerick has been discontinued.

Homes and businesses in Askeaton and Carrigkerry were hit with power outages caused by harsh weather conditions last Thursday.
