Man held after guns and drugs find

A man has been arrested by Limerick Gardai this evening after a number of weapons and drugs were seized.

Gardai, assisted by the Emergency Response Unit, carried out a raid on a house in the St Marys Park estate where they recovered two firearms including a 2.2 rifle and a small quantity of ammunition.

The arrested man, who is in his thirties, is being held tonight at Mayorstone Garda station under section 30 of the offences against the state act. The raid took place around lunchtime.
