Woman seriously injured after bridge fall

A woman was seriously injured Wednesday after falling over 30 feet from a bridge onto the N20 bypass, Gardai have said.

The woman was out walking when the incident happened around 5pm. Gardai, ambulance and fire service personnel responded to the scene at Croom and all traffic was halted for up to 20 minutes.

The woman was rushed to the Mid-western regional hospital suffering from severe abdominal pain and multiple fractures.
