Gardai know identity of hit and run suspect

Gardai have revealed that they now know the identity of the suspect involved in a Limerick Hit and Run incident on Satarday May 13th past , in which a 4 year old child was badly injured.

A garda spokesman told the Limerick independant that they expected to interview a man in relation to the incident and that a file on the matter was likely to be sent to the DPP soon.

The incident, which took place around 8.10pm that evening on the Quarry road, sparked off a major search in the Thomandgate area of the city with the garda helicopter being used to locate the suspect after he fled the scene.

The development is seen as a 'breakthrough'.
