NTL TO CUT 6,000 JOBS IN UK BY 2007
Cable company NTL reported a small first-quarter operating profit on Tuesday as it announced plans to cut or outsource about 6,000 jobs by the end of 2007 following its merger with rival Telewest.
The company said revenues for the three months to March 31 was 611 million pounds, up 127 million pounds from the fourth quarter, mainly due to the Telewest merger. It added 25,800 net customers during the quarter
