UL to get €4.34m grant for Science Foundation Ireland

The University of Limerick has been awarded a EUR4.34 million grant from Science Foundation Ireland. The monies will be invested in SFI's Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry (MACSI) initiative and will help fund more than a dozen new postgraduate research fellowships. MACSI will develop a strategy for the solution of mathematical problems encountered in the Irish science, engineering and industry sectors and will involve collaboration with companies such as Analog Devices (NYSE: ADI - news) , Dell Computers, Diageo
(LSE: DGE.L - news) , Waterford Crystal,
Boston Scientific (NYSE: BSX - news) , Kostal and
Transitions Optical.
