Man in custody following gun find

A man has been arrested by Gardai after a handgun and ammunition were discovered at a house on the south side of the city Friday night.

Radio reports say the man, in his fifties, was arrested at a house in the Kennedy Park estate following the discovery of the weapon.

Roxboro Gardai are detaining the man under section 30 of the Offences against the state act.He can be held for a maximum if 24 hours before being released or charged.
