Boy dies after being hit by car

A 10 year old boy has been killed in a road accident in Co. Limerick this morning.

The young boy was believed to have be been struck by a car while crossing a road in the village of Dereen near Althea around 8am.

The youngster, who is from the local area, was pronounced dead at the scene. The scene has been preserved for technical examination.
