Boil notice lifted following floods
A water boil notice issued by Limerick county council following the freak flooding in west county Limerick has been lifted Monday evening.
Following extensive testing by the councils local environmental laboratory staff,it was concluded today that the water being produced at the Newcastle West water treatment plant is meeting drinking water standards.
The alert was issued last Friday, the morning after the serious deluge of rainfall which caused the floods.
Newcastle West, Coolcappagh Rathcahill, Ballyine, Dually, Reens Kilscannell, Old Mill Road, Killoughteen and Killeline Group Water Supply Schemes were all affected by the notice.
