Search for missing Limerick woman is scaled down

A search for a missing elderly Limerick woman in Italy has been scaled down, Italian Police have said this evening.

82 year old Mairead Geary was last seen on Friday when she said she was taking a cable car up to a viewing point on nearby Mount Mottarone near the northern Italian town of Stresa.

Mrs. Geary is originally from Co. Clare but has been living on the South Circular Road for most of her life. Family members travelled to Italy on Sunday to take part in the search but have since returned home.
