Shannon river search resumes today

A search will resume today of the river Shannon after a man was reportedly seen falling into the water Saturday evening.

Emergency services responded to reports of the incident at the Shannon bridge around 8pm and a full scale search and rescue operation was quickly enacted.

The local Marine Search and Rescue unit backed up by the Shannon based coastguard helicopter took part in the search, which has resumed again today.
