'street ambassadors' to hit the Limerick streets
If your walking down Cruises Street in the coming days and come across a happy smiley person dressed in a munster like red attire, then you have just met one of the ten new 'street ambassadors' assigned to our city.
They are being introduced by the Mayor of Limerick, Diarmuid Scully. He says their role is to offer help with directions and provide information on key tourist attractions to tourists and some locals too.
The street ambassadors have been receiving basic training from the gardai, traffic wardens and Limerick Civic Trust. This will be a pilot project and if successful we will have to go back to the EU with an evaluation for next year," said the Diarmuid.
It will be interesting to see how this project will fair out.
