Man assaulted in city centre
A man is recovering in hospital this evening after suffering an assault at the hands of two men in the city centre.
According to reports, the man was dragged from his car on Nicholas Street after it was rammed by a silver jeep. He was then beaten and suffered stab wounds to his neck and head. The victim, in his twenties is from the Moyross area and was carrying a child in the back seat of his car at the time.
He was taken to St Johns Hospital where his injuries, said to be ‘superficial’ are being treated. Gardai are investigating the incident and will not rule out the possibility it is linked to the cities on-going feud.
The attack occurred around 2.00pm.
The Irish Examiner is reporting the incident is not feud related
