Two men arrested after city gun finds

Two men have been arrested after Gardai recovered two firearms in the city overnight.

A handgun was seized at an address in O Malley Park after Gardai carried out a planed raid in the estate. One man was arrested at the scene.

Elsewhere, a second man was arrested by Gardai after he was found to have an automatic weapon on him in Limerick City centre during the night.The 37 year old, originally from Clare but living in Limerick, was detained as he sat in a car on Wickham Street.

The arrested are being held at Roxboro and Henry Street Garda Stations.
