Shots fired in Foynes petrol station robbery
Gardai in Limerick are investigating a robbery at a petrol station in Foynes last night in which at least two shots were fired.
No one is believed to have been injured in the incident in which three men, who wearing balaclavas, entered Reidy's petrol station in the town around 10.45pm Monday night. Two assailants were armed with shotguns while the other man was in possession of a knife.
A woman who was sitting in her car outside the petrol station was taken from her car at knifepoint and led into the filling station shop.
The three, believed to be foreign nationals, left the scene by car shortly afterwards with a sum of money from a till, believed to be around €1,000.
