Crash victim transferred to Cork University Hospital

A Limerick man who was seriously injured in a car accident on Tuesday night has been transferred to Cork University Hospital.

19 year old Jamie Marshall from Thomondgate was the driver of a car which crashed into a wall at Punchbowl, near Woodcock Hill around 7.50pm. He sustained serious injuries in the crash and was needed to be cut free from the car by fire service personnel. Three other passengers were not seriously injured.

Since the accident the 19 year old has been recovering at Limerick regional hospital however he has now been transferred to Cork. A spokesperson for the HSE in Cork says he is in a “critical but stable condition” in an intensive care unit.

Gardai at Mayorstone are investigating the crash.
