Keane case goes to trial in September
The case against Limerick man Liam Keane has been sent forward for trial next month.
Despite the level of Garda interest of which he draws, 23 year old Keane along with his co accused, 20 year old Greg Crawford were travelling in a stolen car and in possession of a loaded Glock pistol in the Corbally area of the city in May of this year. They were arrested by local Gardai assisted by the Emergency Response Unit after a brief chase.
Both men appeared at a Limerick City court Wednesday where Det Sgt Derek Clancy served the book of evidence in the case. Solicitor John Herbert once again said no application for bail was being made for either accused.
The case will begin at the Circuit Court on September 30th. Both men have been in custody since their arrest on May 3rd.
