Leaving cert teen dies followng road accident

A woman who was critically injured after she crashed her car on the Bruff to Croom road Tuesday night has died in hospital.

19 year old Erin Whelan who was due to collect her leaving cert results Wednesday, died in hospital Thursday surrounded by her family.The Limerick Leader reports that the woman’s life support machine was switched off.

The teenager, who wanted to study to become a social worker, died this Thursday morning at the hospital surrounded by her parents Gerard and Marian, and her two brothers Colm and Graham.
