Severe weather warnings issued

Met agencies are warning of severe weather with heavy rain and local flooding around the country for tonight and tomorrow. A weather warning issued by Met Eireann this morning reads,

"Riks of 25 to 50 mm of rainfall in the 24 hour period 0600 Monday to 0600 Tuesday 12/8/2008. Heaviest rain mainly in Munster and Connacht this afternoon and evening and in Leinster and Ulster overnight."
Met Eireann also says that there is a lightning-risk associated with the Scattered thunderstorms that will move in today.

It’s also worth pointing out that European Storm Forecast Experiment has our area under a thunderstorm warning, saying low coverage of severe weather is expected.
