11 flood victims currently living in emergency housing

At least 11 people are still living in emergency accommodation following the recent flooding in west Co. Limerick, local radio reported today.

Limerick county council in partnership with the Health Service executive are leading the rehousing effort which will see many more needing to be rehoused.

Speaking to local limerick radio, Director of Housing Services Jimmy Feane said,

”We’re trying to deal with these people who have an emergency accommodation need discreetly and with compassion and understanding. Given what happened, the most venerable people tend to be those in their elder years.”
Residents affected who are still seeking accommodation are asked to make contact with the housing section of the County Council on 061 496 263. On the web at www.lcc.ie/housing
