Teenager dies in Moyross stabbing

Gardaí are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 18 year old youth in Limerick overnight.

The young man was involved in an altercation at a house in Creaval Park, Moyross around 2am. The young victim sustained a number of stab wounds in the attack and was rushed to the Mid Western Hospital however he died a short time later.

Parts of the Moyross area are currently sealed off and the services of the Garda Technical Bureau and the State Pathologist have been requested to the scene.

Gardai say at present they do not know how many people were involved in the incident.


Two people have been arrested early this morning for interfering with the crime scenes in the area. One of them is due to appear in the District court later today.

Gardai are asking anyone who may have information in relation to the incident to contact them at Mayorstone on 061 456980 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

It's expected a murder investigation will be launched later today.

There is a strong Garda presence at the scene this evening due to earlier clashes between gangs of youths and Gardai.
