5 week waiting list in Limerick...for an x-ray

Limerick People are waiting longer for x-ray appointments according to the Health Service Executive today.

The waiting time for an x-ray in Limerick regional hospital is now 5 weeks while St. Johns is at a 3 week wait. And the Limerick GP's aren't happy about it.They say that patients would now rather go straight to the A&E to recieve a faster x-ray.

Liam Murray, radiography manager at St John’s Hospital, said GP patients must get faster access to x-ray appointments to reduce pressure on A&E departments. He said: “An effective and efficient appointment system allows for patient access at more convenient times and in a controlled manner.”
