Man released in Nunan murder probe
Gardai have this morning released a man they had arrested in connection with the murder of Limerick man David Nunan last year.The man was arrested on tuesday along with another man and a women but two were released yesterday.
Gardai say the man , in his 20's who was released today was detained on suspiction of withholding information relating to a crime.
Mr Nunan was shot dead in a laneway in Parteen village on the outskirts of the city on Friday, October 28.He had only been released from prison the previous Monday. Gardaí believed he was lured into a death trap by his killer.
The post mortem found he had been shot twice in the back. The bullets recovered from the scene indicated that a powerful semi automatic handgun was used.
Gardaí suspected he may have fallen foul of a drugs gang in the Southill area where the dead man lived.
Numerous people have been arrested and released since the murder.
