New €1.5m Ambulance station for Limerick

Limerick is on course to receive a new €1.5m Ambulance station The Health Service Executive has confirmed.The executive announced that it wishes to build the new station on the land acrosss from the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle where the current station is.

The project is currently waiting approval from the corporate division of the HSE and is expected to get the go ahead. However the HSE has stated that if a more suitable location for the project other than Dooradoyle is an option then relocation would be considered.

Sixty people are currently employed at the Dooradoyle facility.
