Meeting held in River Deel dispute

A meeting took place over the weekend between Palaskenry/Kildimo residents and Limerick county council officials to try and resolve the standoff over the town’s water supply.

It is being reported that the two contingents met in a Limerick hotel but couldn’t even sit in the same room. Two independent facilitators were needed to carry the negotiations back and forth between the two rooms.

In the end the meeting was described by County Council official Paul Crowe as “constructive”.

Speaking to Live95Fm he confirmed,

“Well there was a constructive meeting facilitated by two independent facilitators. We didn’t actually meet in the same room so the facilitators shuttled between both parties. The meeting was constructive and has been adjourned until Thursday."

Another meeting is scheduled to take place later this week.
