Post offices to close in tribute to murdered postmaster
Post Offices in Limerick will be closed tomorrow (Tuesday) for an hour beginning at noon out of respect for murdered postmaster Alan Cunniffe who was shot dead in Kilkenny on Friday as he chased an armed shoplifter from his post office.
A man in his 20s has appeared at a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court in relation to the fatal shooting.Shu Shen of no fixed abode was charged on two counts; that he robbed Patrick Cremin of €13,760 at the post office in John's Green, and with the murder of Mr. Cunniffe.
