Vomiting bug infects eight at Regional Hospital
Precautions are being taken at Limerick Regional Hospital to curb the spread of the Winter Vomiting bug.
Reports from the hospital today say there are now eight cases of the bug in six different wards.
Officials at the hospital in Dooradoyle have increased control measures and are now only allowing one visitor per patient saying people should only visit the hospital, including Accident and Emergency, if it is "absolutely necessary".
The virus is highly infectious and can be potentially dangerous in the very young or old.
