Gardai shut down Southill Shebeen

Gardai have seized thousands of euro worth of alcohol from a Southill shebeen over the weekend.

The taphouse, located in a private house in the estate was a major hit with local residents, however time was called last weekend as Gardai carried out a number of operations on the haunt which as the NewsWire has learned also provides poker machines and fruit machines along with satellite TV to it’s regulars.

Gardai commented on the raids,
"We seized quite a large quantity of alcohol on both nights including beer and
spirits. We also seized a number of kegs, taps and fridges."

One man was arrested during the operation at the Keyes Park house for breaching the peace. Gardai said they will be holding on to the confiscated alcohol as evidence.
