Jury sworn in for manslaughter trial
The jury has been sworn in for the trial of a polish man accused of the manslaughter of another man last year.
27 year old Waldemar Mateja is accused of the manslaughter of Dariusz Wiskowski on the 9th of April 2007 at a house party at a house in Castletroy.
The prosecution today outlined its case against the accused saying Mr. Mateja caused Mr. Wiskowski to fall down the stairs at 19 Hawthorns in Briarfield resulting in his death.
The jury of four men and eight were told by the presiding judge today that the case could last until the end of next week.
The accused is charged with unlawful killing.
