Man charged after Saturday’s stabbing attack

A man who was being questioned in relation to the stabbing of two teenagers last Saturday night which resulted in one teenager’s death, has been charged.

The 19 year old, who had handed himself in to Gardai around 7pm Monday evening, will appear in court today charged over the stabbing of the 16 year old male who was injured alongside the victim, Roman Vysochan. He was charged with assault causing harm under section 3 of the non fatal offences against the person act.

A file is being prepared for the DPP in relation to the fatal stabbing of Roman Vysochan and Gardai say they are not seeking anyone else in connection with the investigation.

Roman Vysochan and another male teen, both 16 years old, were stabbed around 11pm Saturday night in a row in the Corbally area of the city. Both were rushed to the Limerick regional hospital however Mr. Vysochan died of his injuries. His funeral takes place this morning.
