Limerick woman’s child dies in Jersey fire
A native Limerick woman is in critical condition in a Jersey hospital following a house fire in which her young daughter was killed.
The little girl was due to be flown to a Southampton Hospital for specialist treatment immediately following her rescue from the fire but she died in a Jersey Hospital at 10.30 pm last night.
The woman’s parents have flown out form Limerick to be by her side.
The 33 year old mother who had been living in Jersey for eight years remains in a coma as a result of the fire which happened yesterday morning.
Firefighters found the mother and daughter unconscious in their home at Mont Cochon near the capital St Helier's shortly after 4am yesterday when the alarm was raised.
