Gardai search wasteland following gun seizure

A Garda search of waste ground was underway Saturday afternoon in Limerick City

A team of 12 Gardai backed up by the Garda dog unit searched waste ground just off the Childers Road between the Roxboro Road Roundabout and the Kilmallock Road roundabouts.

The search reportedly began in the Glasgow Park and Kennedy Park areas around 2.30pm. The action is thought to be in relation to the seizure of a gun in Kennedy Park Friday night in which a man in his fifties was arrested
