Off-licence convicted of selling alcohol to underage customers

The owner of a city off-licence has been fined €1,000 and ordered to shut shop for one day after he was convicted of selling alcohol to underage customers.

The Fine Wines outlet which is located at the Q Centre in Roxboro was convicted on two charges of selling intoxicating liquor to persons under 18 years of age which occurred on the 2nd of September 2007.

Alcohol was sold to two underage persons on that date and the store was fined €500 for both instances.

Judge Tom O`Donnell also ordered the outlet to close for one day on December 15th.
