Firefighters begin 24 hour marathon climb

Firefighters attempting to break a world record for ladder climbing have begun the task outside Debenhams in O’Connell Street, in the most horrendous weather conditions.

The rain poured down as the 10 man crew set off to climb for 24 hours continuously this evening just after 4pm.

The feat is being carried out to raise funds for Red Hill School a school for children with autistic spectrum disorder between the ages of 3 and 18 years.

As mentioned before, the crew will have to scale the ladder a minimum of 46 times per hour in the 24 period.

Were keeping an eye on them.
