Man dies in city center accident

A man has died after he was struck by a car in Limerick city last night.

The 67 year old pedestrian was hit by a car on Clare Street around 10.20pm as he was walking home. He was killed instantly.

His body has been removed to the Midwest Regional Hospital and Gardai are appealing for witnesses to the accident to come forward.
