Fears grow for more West Limerick jobs

There are fears today of further jobs misery in West Limerick following reports that a Limerick company may be cutting jobs.

A Limerick SIPTU representative has said there is a growing concern among workers of the car components manufacturer Kostal, which employs 650 people at its Abbeyfeale plant and 400 at its Mallow plant, that it may be planning to announce redundancies.

RTE reports company officials were to meet employees at both its plants in Abbeyfeale and Mallow Friday morning.

NEW DETAILS
The company has told staff on Friday morning at both plants that 200 redundancies are being sought in Abbeyfeale and 100 more are being sought in Mallow.
