Limerick based Afghan hunger strikers appear in court
It has emerged today that some of the Afghan hunger strikers who staged the protest in St Patricks Cathedral last week have addresses in Limerick.
Thirty three protestors appeared before a session of Kilmainham District Court today charged under Section 3 of the False Entry and Occupation Act. A date for the next hearing has been set for August.
During the hearing today Judge Brigid Reilly granted 13 of the men permission to return to their addresses in Tralee, Limerick, Galway and Cork.
A small protest by supporters of the men was held outside the court during the hearing.
