Gerry Hannon to run in General Election
Limerick broadcaster and Author Gerry Hannon, has announced that he is to stand as a candidate in the next General Election.
He made the announcement in an article in Fridays Limerick Leader saying,
“I am running on one issue and one issue only and that is the legalisation of Serenity FM”The station owner who last month had his Radio Limerick One taken off the air by ComReg will be running in the Limerick East constituency.
In the article he says that he felt compelled to start Serenity Fm as a duty to his listeners and that he is running for the Dáil seat to get the station on the air.
UPDATE: I’ve decided this story falls under the category of “Most ridiculous item of the day”. I would say of the year but I ain’t got a graphic for it.
