City Hall warns feuding Southill families

Minister for Defence and Limerick TD Willie O’Dea(left) apparently requested that feuding families in the Southill area to be called into City Hall where they were issued with verbal warnings in relation to their anti-social conduct in the Southside housing estate.

He confirmed to the Limerick Chronicle,

“If people are disrespectful in their estate there is legislation under the housing act to stop it. We are exploring ways and are going to point out that ways are available to City Hall to stop these actions.”
Fianna Fail TD Peter Power stated that the Gardai must now start handing out the new Anti Social Behaviour Orders which came into law yesterday to “rid communities of louts and thugs”

However Gardai stressed that the Garda computer system PULSE, will “not be capable of processing ASBOs for several months so they will initially be recorded in written form”
