Limerick radio license decision is imminent - Report


The battle of the airways in Limerick is hotting up, that’s according to an article in today’s Independent.

The paper reports that two applicants, UTV owned Live 95FM and locally backed Heart FM, are battling it out for the BCI’s Mid-West license which broadcasts from Limerick.

Heart FM is backed by comedian Pat Shortt, musicians Noel and Mike Hogan and businessman Tony Brazil.

A decision on which of the two the license will be granted is imminent.The winner of the contract could net up to €20m over the 10 years the license runs for.
