Co. Limerick company gets “Christmas Boost”

Electronics manufacturing company STS PCB of Kantoher in Co. Limerick have received an early Christmas present this year.

Today’s Sunday Business Post reports that the company is expecting a €45 million lift in turnover from new contracts over the next three years after the Indian multinational Asian Electronics took a 51 per cent stake in the company last week.

STS PCB already employs 30 people in Kantoher outside Newcastle West and intends to hire more staff as it expands its operations. ‘‘It’s a major boost obviously
for this company to be incorporated into a major player like Asian Electronics,” said Kevin McDonnell, who set up the company with fellow director Mike O’Shea.

This is the same area of Limerick where 300 people lost there jobs at the Castlemahon foods plant in October.
