Murder appeal pushed back to February

The appeal by the five men convicted of the murder of crime boss Kieran Keane and attempted murder of Owen Tracey, have all had their case adjourned until February 9th.

Mr. Justice Nicholas Kearns made the decision due to a number of related documents such as media reports on the original trial were not present in the three-judge court.

34 year old David Stanners, 23 year old Desmond Dundon, 23 year old Christopher Costelloe, 27 year old James McCarthy and 24 year old Anthony McCarthy were all convicted in 2003.

The trial took place on the grounds of Clover Hill Prison in Dublin and lasted 29 days. The jury spent over 15 hours deliberating the verdicts.
