Explosion and shots fired in Southill

Gardai are investigating a grenade explosion and a shooting incident in Southill last night.

Reports say an armed gang approached a house in the estate around 9.00pm and threw a grenade into the front garden before opening fire on the front of the house.

The grenade exploded leaving a creator. The house was occupied at the time however nobody was injured in the incident.

The scene has been sealed off for technical examination later today.

UPDATE: A man in his thirties has been arrested in relation to the attack.He is being questioned at Roxboro Garda station.
