Wind damage reported on Riverpoint Building

A pane of glass came loose on the Riverpoint building at Bishops Quay around midday today where it dangled precariously in high winds.

The loose glass was reported to be on the 5th floor of the 15 floor building after Wind gusts of 100kmph battered the area.

Limerick Fire service units arrived on the scene and stabilised the situation. There was no access to Bishops Quay from The Shannon Bridge roundabout for a time.

In December panels of cladding became loose high up on the building. Gardai took the precautionary measure of closing streets in fear the cladding would fall in high wind.
