Man arrested in Maloney murder inquiry

Gardai have arrested a man in relation to the murder of Mark Maloney who was gunned down earlier this month.

The 19 year old man was arrested near the crescent shopping centre Saturday evening around 7pm.Reports say he is known to Gardai and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm.

He is being held at Henry Street Garda station under section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.

40 year old Mark Maloney (above) was shot dead near his home in Garryowen on April 5th. 18-year-old Stephen O’Sullivan has already been charged with the murder of Mr. Maloney.
