Murder accused complains about treatment while in custody
A man who is currently on remand after being charged with the murder of Mark Maloney over a week ago has complained to a judge about the way in which he has been treated while in custody saying he was being cared for like an animal, locked in his cell for 23 hours a day.
18-year-old Stephen O’Sullivan from Southill made the complaint while appearing at Limerick District Court yesterday.He is charged with the murder of Mark Maloney in Garryowen on April 5th.Judge O’Donnell said there was nothing he could do about the matter.
During the session, Gardai requested more time to prepare the book of evidence against the accused.
The case was adjourned until April 29th.
