Limerick woman dies after Lahinch rescue


A Limerick woman has died after being rescued from waters off of Lahinch Tuesday evening.

39 year old Finoa Ring of Bruff Co Limerick, had been surfing at Lahinch beach and had been in the water for more than an hour before the alarm was raised.

Doolin coastguard vessels along with the Shannon based coastguard helicopter began a search for the woman around 10.00pm.

The victim was airlifted to a Galway hospital after spending almost two hours in the sea, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
