Limerick man due in court on passport charge

A Limerick man is due before the District Court in Cork this morning charged with the possession of a false passport at Cork Airport on the July 4th of this year.

21 year old Gerard Dundon of Hyde Road in Weston was arrested by Gardai at the airport when he produced a passport with the name of ‘Terence Ruth’ as he attempted to board a Friday night flight to Amsterdam with nothing but €5,850 in his possession and no luggage.

At the time of his arrest he told Gardai he was informed his life was in danger and he needed the false document for his own protection, saying and he was only planning to stay in Amsterdam until Sunday.
