Man pleads guilty to gun and drugs possession

A man has appeared at the District court in Limerick Thursday charged with the possession of three firearms and a quantity of drugs.

37 year old Noel Purcell was arrested on the 11th of July last after Gardai searched houses on the northside of the city.

In court today, the Ballynanty native pleaded guilty to all five charges laid against him including the possession of a Glock pistol, a .357 Magnum, an firing pistol and possession of cocaine and cannabis.

Local radio reports say the accused man will appear in court again for sentencing on January 23rd.
