Man gets 3 years for screwdriver attack on teen
A man who repeatedly stabbed a 15 year old boy in the back leaving him with serious injuries including a collapsed lung has been jailed for 3 years today.
30 year old Mark Milstein from St Francis Place on Nicholas Street had already pleaded guilty to assault causing harm to the 15 year old boy in the incident which happened on the 1st of March 2008.
Before sentencing today, Limerick Distract Court was told of how the 15 year old was set upon in Moyross in broad daylight and stabbed with a screwdriver,

The court heard that the victim had become aware he was being followed by a group of 3 men in a Fiat Punto and was attempting to gain entry to the house when they caught up with him.It was left to Judge Carroll Moran to sentence the defendant to three years however he backdated the sentence to July 2008.
He told gardai one of the men, described in court as Mr X said `Now we have him` and began punching him, knocking him to the ground before grabbing his neck to hold him up again.
